"Player 2" Available Now!
Draw Tippy’s new album Player 2 is a synth-fueled joyride through a melodic universe of new wave, power-pop and electronica. Combining influences from every corner of the galaxy, Player 2 crashes Gary Numan into Weezer. Forms a new species with XTC and Depeche Mode. And picks up a few hitchhikers like They Might Be Giants and The Human League.
This quirky, hooky, danceable?, geeked-out adventure is full of energetic highs and some thoughtful, quieter moments. There are romances and revolutions as well as family dramas and depressed friends. And just when you thought the journey couldn’t be more far out, Draw Tippy kicks in the hyperdrive with an 8-Bit version of the Outfield classic, “Your Love”.
By now you must be wondering, "Who's flying the Draw Tippy ship?" Well it's multi-instrumentalist Dave Pachence. Pachence who wrote, played, sang, recorded and mixed most everything on Player 2, founded Draw Tippy back in 2004.
Draw Tippy's first self-titled release was well received on the indie scene with reviewers saying nice things like: "Pachence is an explosive genius. A modern-day slacker-geek musical savant." Daily Vault and "Few of Draw Tippy’s peers manage the same level of wit, imagination, and infectious energy." IndieMusic.com and "Humor, catchiness and genuine entertainment prevail." Prefix.
More impressively, the release was picked up by MTV for use on their shows. That exposure led to Draw Tippy being played all over the airwaves and to this day, Draw Tippy tracks are being used on Flipping Out, Teen Mom, American Pickers and even The Rose Bowl Parade coverage.
That was then and Player 2 is now. Hop on board with Draw Tippy and enjoy the ride.
